Taiwan Studies Research Center | National Library

The National Taiwan Library, founded in 1914, is the oldest public library in Taiwan. Previously Taiwan Governor's Library ( Taiwan Sōtokufu Library), it was established during the time of Japanese occupation and hosts one of the premier collections of Taiwan studies materials in Taiwan.

To promote the teaching and research of Taiwan studies, the library established the Taiwan Studies Research Center in 2007. The Library organizes precious Japanese-era historical documents from Taiwan Governor's Library, and Southern Library, and continues to collect historical materials and treatises related to Taiwan, all with remarkable results.
