Wilson Bo-lin Chen, an award-winning actor and a cultural ambassador for the Ministry of Culture’s “A New Wave of Reading” program, will be touring northern and central Taiwan this December to share his reading experiences with members of the general public.
Following in the footsteps of veteran actress Brigitte Lin and filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang, Chen has joined the Ministry’s efforts to promote the habit of reading in Taiwan. He is joined by comic artist Cory and novelist Giddens Ko for the program series during the latter half of 2013.
Chen is slated to be at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung on Dec. 7, and at the Taipei Zhongshan Hall on the following day. He will share with his fans how reading has helped him to prepare for new roles in his acting career.
In line with Chen’s theme of acting, the event organizers will also hold two movie screenings after his meetings with the general public. Director Yang Li-chou’s “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” a documentary on the Shaolin Village’s road to recovery after the deadly Typhoon Morakot, will be shown on Dec. 7, followed by filmmaker Chu Yu-ning’s family drama “To My Dear Granny” on Dec. 8.
